As part of my cleaning, I made three piles of items to remove from my home. The first was for the trash, the second was for donation and the third was for gifting. I made this particular Birds in the Air quilt a few years ago and it has been wrapped in a large Ziplock bag since it’s completion.
I made it because I was inspired to do so, but once it was finished I had no-one to give it to so I put it, along with another Birds in the Air baby quilt, in a Ziplock blanket bag and promptly forgot about them.
While I was cleaning I found them both, removed them from the bag and contemplated what to do with them and instantly I knew. This one I am going to keep for myself. I’ll put a rod pocket on the back and hang it on display.
This one will be going to a very special little girl.
This is Ana, she is three years old and her Mama is my youngest sons girlfriend. I have known Ana’s mother, Uncle and grandmother for at least 10 years but just recently she and her mother have become an official part of our family and I couldn’t be happier. So this quilt is currently on it’s way to Washington state where, hopefully, it will know lots of playtime and snuggle time.
I would like to take a moment to say thank you for following me on my journey this year and thank you for allowing me to share in your journey’s as well. I feel blessed to have met you all, even if it was only through the internet.
I am going to be signing off until after Christmas, so I would like to take the opportunity to wish every one a very Merry Christmas, blessed Solstice and a very happy New Year!
Keep on creating~
