About Bella

I have been sewing since I was knee high to a grasshopper; it is in my blood. My mother sews and quilts, my grandmother sewed and quilted, her mother… you get the picture. I have always been artistic, but it has been the last 5 years or so that I have switched my medium from pencils, paints, paper and canvas, to fiber.

To say that I love textiles is an understatement. As a child my mother would take me to the fabric store with her and I had to touch “colors” on all the bolts of fabric. I loved to feel the textural differences between wool and silk, the raised feel of brocades and the way that velvet felt beneath my fingers when I gently rubbed it back and forth. One of my favorite things to do a as a child was to play in my mothers fabric scrap box. (I know, I was an odd kid)

I had made several quilts throughout my life, but it wasn’t until December 27, 2014 that I really began to quilt in earnest. It was on my birthday that my husband took me to a local fabric/antique store to look around. I became obsessed with the Eleanor Burns Underground Railroad book and the rest is history, I have been creating quilts on a regular basis ever since.

I hope you enjoy my blog and feel free to drop me a line if you feel inspired to do so, I would love to hear from you.

Happy sewing,
